They associate it with hunger, disappointment, and at last failure. Hunger is a natural signal from the body enlightening us to eat. To the contrary, when we are hungry we have a tendency to panic into eating whatever is in sight to guard us from starvation. Skipping meals will slow down your metabolism and lead you to overcompensate with a bigger meal later in the day. And this tight schedule makes us eat faster to stay out in front. D-I-E-Tmost folks could not think about a more vulgar four-letter word. It appears many of us wish to be oversized instead of face the consequences of a diet. An eating healthily plan is a lifetime dedication to feel and look better, and it is the only plan you can ever need to follow to shed pounds and keep it off. A healthy, healthy diet will also reinforce the immune system, reduce fatigue, reduce the complications of certain medicines, stop trots and other digestive afflictions, and maintain the chemical balance in the body.
Hunger is a natural signal from the body informing us to eat. You shouldnt need to be hungry to shed weight. If theres any one word that might evoke as much or more fear than the word it is perhaps EXERCISE. But exercise does not and should not need to involve hours at the gymnasium or difficult time expended in a mindless, agonizing routine. Folks who are successful at achieving weight reduction, and making it permanent, have sometimes discovered a way to make exercise a fun part of their daily activities. And dont believe the newest weight reduction schemes. But that does not imply that it can not be fun. Enjoy your life to the fullest by looking after yourself, eating exquisite good foods and making exercise a pleasurable part of your day.

Disclaimer: Prescription drugs like Botox should only be used under the direction of a qualified physician. Doing otherwise can be serious and even illegal. We do not endorse nor suggest the sutability of any of the medications mentioned but rather only to inform and/or suggest that people can buy juvederm quickly on-line and save time and money.
You may be thinking of buying your prescription medications like Botox from websites specializing in prescription medicines? It is certainly a great idea to get your prescriptions like Botox in a much more convenient and less expensive way. Not exclusively for prescriptions like Botox but you can often times get other health items from websites specializing in prescription medicines and also online pharmacy consultation as well.
Botox is the name brand for one neurotoxic protein Botulinum toxin, which is made by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum and is right now, the most toxic protein known to man. Fortunately, the doses injected medicinally are very small in actual toxicity due to the refined, isolated, and minimal doses used in treating muscle spasms, neuromuscular disorders, and in its more popular cosmetic application, the repairing of old age.
Cheap prescription drugs like Botox are needed by many more baby boomers every day and websites specializing in prescription medications like Botox are becoming more significant in meeting that need.
Another Important Reason to Consider OnLine Pharmacies
If you have questions about your prescription medications like Botox, many reliable Internet pharmacies allow you to consult with a licensed pharmacist from the privacy of your home. Internet drug stores can also provide additional Internet product information that you can print, as well as links to other sources of information about your prescription drugs like Botox and medical condition.
Tell Me, What Does Botox Do Specifically?
Botox relaxes muscles by partly or completely paralyzing them at the treatment site. The Botox blocks nerve impulses to the muscle, keeping the site free from tension and thus reduce any signs of age.
Muscles relaxed by Botox make any lines appear reduced or virtually disappear. The downfall is that the facial muscle is temporarily paralyzed, though. There may not be any old-age signs on the forehead, but you also cannot move it very much until the Botox treatment fades away. This is a big part of the reason why Botox is primarily useful in certain facial sites.
How is it used?
Botox is injected directly into the muscle tissue that produce old-age signs when youmake facial expressions. These muscle tissues are mostly in the forehead and around the eyes or neck. The injections stop nerve signals from moving to the injected muscles, so they relax and the skin looks less wrinkled.
The injections come with very little pain, but your doctor may numb the site with ice or an anesthetic cream. The treatment takes around 10 - 15 minutes. The shots do not cause numbness.
This viewpoint provided through MedicaDepot.Com; buy restylane touch conveniently on-line and save money. You can see they have loads of relevant, helpful information.
As you can see, acquiring your prescription drugs like Botox from websites specializing in prescription drugs offers many benefits when while compared to filling your prescription drugs like Botox at a pharmacy.

Legos 50th birthday was celebrated in January 2008, marking the date the now famous plastic brick was patented by Ole Kirk Christansen. The company was formed in 1932 in Denmark, focusing at first on wooden toys. The name came from two Danish words, and , meaning Play Well. Production of the plastic brick began in 1949, using an injection moulding machine. Here three print advertisements connect the international toy building block with three moments in history, victory for heavyweight boxer Muhammad Ali against Joe Frazier in 1970, the fall of the Berlin Wall, shown in front of the Brandeburg Gate in 1989, and the Tank man in Beijing in 1989.

I was on the train, coming home from work last night listening to Bob Dylans Masters of War and reading Simon Singh Edzard Ernsts Trick or Treatment, when the words of the song started to transform.

Hopefully your familiar with the 1963 masterpiece Masters of War taken from The Freewheelin Bob Dylan, otherwise the following song probably wont work.

Anyway in honour of the multitude of purveyors of alternative medicine woo, I have taken the liberty of rewriting Dylans song..

Come you masters of woo
You that believe in reiki
You that believe in crystals
You that believe in feng shui
Your aromatherapy
Is such an unlikely thing
I just don't want you to know
I have read Simon Singh

You that never healed no one
cept placebo effect
Your pills are just sugar
Thats what I suspect
You crack my poor spine
And stick pins in my smile
Then choose to ignore
A controlled clinical trial

Your homeopaths
Who delude and deceive
Distilled water has memory
They want me to believe
Theres no active ingredient
Not one single bit
But if water has memory
Your cures full of shit

You spread misinformation
And dont vaccinate
With herd immunity lost
Children suffer your fate
You preach from your platform
On Oprah Winfrey
You might as well go
On a mad killing spree

Spine wizards can sue
If they dont like my song
Your plethora of evidence
Has been proved to be wrong
Youll regret the exposure
Of this I am sure
For colic and asthma
You dont have a cure

You won't find my Chi
It doesnt exist
Stop stabbing your pins
Please dont persist
I have no meridian
To poke with a needle
Please try and see why
Your science is so feeble

Herbal remedies sound natural
What harm could they do?
Untested, unproven
Theyre trialling on you
If they turn out to work
Then youll have to forgive
They can no longer be classed
As alternative

Crystals and reiki
Youre having a laugh
Not any more likely
Than a flying giraffe
If you believe in that crap
Then you have to admit
Youre lacking in reason
You credulous tit

Kudos must also been given to Dale Williams whos mastery of the musical parody technique also served as inspiration.

Executive chef at New York Citys Oriont, Ross rehabilitates the wok in this exciting collection of recipes. Readers who associate the wok solely with stir-frying will learn to use it for braising, poaching, tea-smoking and even making soup. Some of the recipes, such as Vietnamese Pork Cooked in Sugar, are traditional Asian dishes but others, such as Seafood Mousse in Crepe Net Bundles, innovatively mix Asian and European flavors and techniques. Its amazing what Ross can do with such a simple piece of equipment: a chapter on steaming includes both simple Crisp Broccoli Steamed with Oyster Sauce and downright elegant Soft Savory Custard Steamed in a Pumpkin. The introductory material is outstanding as well. A thorough glossary of ingredients used to stock various Asian pantries covers everything from nori to cassia bark, and the author sensibly provides basic instructions for making the rice that serves as a base for many of her dishes.

Let's imagine, for a second, that you're a fiftysomething Canadian male. You might be at the top of your career, your kids are finally out of the house and you're starting to dig yourself out of the financial mess that the economic crisis brought. While your waistline is a bit thicker and your hair a little thinner than it was a decade ago, you like to believe that it lends a distinguished look that commands a certain respect.
Things might look good on the outside, however, your insides might tell a different story. Yes, cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar are all health issues you watch carefully at your annual physical, but what about those nagging issues that no one really likes to talk about? Really, who wants to chat about prostate health or erectile dysfunction? Even if you do have the guts to bring it up, can anything be done to prevent this stuff from happening?

Eating for a healthy prostate

If you're part of the cohort of ageing male boomers, then there is a good chance you were up last night to go to the bathroom - maybe several times. With ageing comes a gradual enlargement of the prostate gland, which can press on the urethra, ultimately restricting urine flow - or even blocking it entirely. This condition, known as benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH, is very common in older men, and while it may be relatively harmless for some, it can also be a precursor for prostate cancer, and therefore should be monitored carefully by your physician.

From a dietary perspective, there haven't been enough well-controlled studies on any nutrients or supplements to be able to draw definitive conclusions, but there is evidence that nutrients such as lycopene (a component released when tomatoes are cooked), the herbal supplement saw palmetto (at a dose of around 500 mg per day), ground flaxseed (two tablespoons per day), soy foods and a low-fat diet can all keep levels of prostate specific antigen (PSA) - a marker of prostatic growth under control. Less convincing is the evidence that taking vitamin E or selenium can prevent prostate cancer; in fact, the large SELECT study, examining the link between both supplements and the development of prostate cancer, was halted last year after it failed to produce any significant results.

Diet and erectile dysfunction

The path by which one develops erectile dysfunction actually has many of the same points of origin as heart disease, which has resulted in some researchers calling ED something of a harbinger of cardiovascular disease. In other words, if the plumbing isn't working down there, it could be a sign it's not working somewhere else, too.

Taking a pill to manage ED is one option, but the best bet is to also take a serious look at diet and lifestyle. Researchers in Italy have demonstrated that losing a bit of weight (about 10% of your initial weight, or about 20 lbs on a 200 lb man) and adopting a Mediterranean-type diet, can improve sexual function in about one-third of men with ED, without the use of medications. Need a refresher on the Mediterranean diet? Here are the key components:
-Choose fish or lean cuts of white meat, like chicken or turkey, more often. Consume red meats sparingly (preferably no more than once or twice per week), and when you do, choose lean cuts.
-Consume plenty of green vegetables and fruits, especially berries.
-Get healthy fats from nuts, olives, olive oil and avocados on a daily basis.
-Choose whole grains over white or refined grains.
-Dairy products are OK, especially yogourt. Eat cheese in moderation.
-And finally, don't forget the legumes, such as chick peas (think: hummus).

While eating this type of diet might be a big change for some, there is much to be gained from slow, steady progress. That might mean adding ground flaxseed to your cereal for prostate health, or choosing yogourt with nuts and berries for breakfast instead of a bagel with cream cheese. It turns out that eating this way can not only help keep your waistline stable and your heart healthy, it might also revitalize your love life, too. And that's good news for men and women alike.

i am pretty big and i have tried everything! i went on a diet and i have been goin to the gym for 2 years i have also tried starving myself for a week but nothing works pleex help!
Answer:
only addressing one issue

starving yourself:
doesnt work because.

its like robbing a car of its oil

it might run well for a while

but eventually will not only break down but be worse off then it was with the oil to begin with

starving yourself slows down your inner fire...your metabolism and before you know it...any food that you put into your body afterwards takes longer to process and actually may make you fatter!!

eat yourself thin

EAT fruit and veggies all day every day especially when you have cravings...drink lots of water
and most important

SLEEP !! at least eight hours a night
carrots, broccoli, tomatoes, grape fruit..

they will all help

for your protein, some broiled chicken, eggs, or salmon (you can buy frozen patties in bags at the market for really cheap)

cooking yourself without butter .instead of those diet meals is so much better.

some people can't do the diet meals because it is full of preservatives and most of our bodies just arent cut out to process all that crap

get yourself healthy by thinking of your body as a machine...the fuel you put in equals the energy that comes out.

focus on the thought that you have to put things in your body to lose weight

get that inner flame burning hot hot hot girly.

My mum was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer and had a lumpectomy and all the lymph nodes removed from under her arm. The doctor has told her the prognosis is good as the tumor was small and they only found cancerous cells in one lymph node out of 18 which they removed. They are optimistic they have caught it early enough for treatment to be effective. She starts radiotherapy on Monday and last week she had a CT scan. I dont know what the reason for this would be or if this is standard practice with breast cancer patients. What are they looking for? More tumors? Anyway she had the scan but she has been called back for another one. What would the reason for this be? Is it a possibility that the scan didnt work properly or do you think they have found something which they want to look at more closely?
She is on Tamoxifen also

Because the DR only did a lumpectomy, standard procedure is to perform another CT scan. This is to make sure there are no further tumors growing, also it shows the DR how well she is healing. Theres always a chance of breast cancer coming back if all of the tumor was not gotten. It sounds like they did get it all in your moms case. Her DR will also have her get mammograms more frequently as well. This is also a precaution to keep a check on her and of course to reveal any tumors. Im glad she alright.

The price hike in gasoline has made the discount online pharmacy a life saver. Using a discount online pharmacy offer lower prices, it will also offer very fast delivery so that you don't have to. There are several different sites where you can order prescription medications online. Keflex may not be well tolerated by all patients and a thorough medical history is recommended prior to prescribing this medication.

Searching for the term brings up several pages claiming aromatherapy is a fraud of some sort. That essential oil manufacturers and retailers are making claims of the efficacy of essential oils. These folks dont seem to have done their homework, or compared the validity of scientific inquiry to that produced by conventional medicine, which in fact could easily be claimed as using the same criteria. Ok, well actually there are no criteria used, just a few blurbs that present aromatherapy as a soft science, on that should be neglected along with everything else thats every been found under the heading of new age.
How about well start be agreeing on this: That SOME of aromatherapy is in-fact a soft science? That SOME people may feel more relaxed when inhaling Lavender, for example, and some will not? Aromatherapists will not disagree on this point they will however put up a defense when the medical applications of essential oils are thrown out with the soft side of therapy. Science IS BACKING UP many of aromatherapys claims with valid data, even on the of the practice. Heres a look at the science behind aromatherapy, the holes in arguments of the popular debunkers, and why aroma-medicine has its place in todays medical practices.
The image problem of aromatherapy has everything to do with the prevailing idea that the practice is all about smelling things, whereas the science really about things that smell. Smelling things is very subjective, and may have little medical effect at all (though well see that it MAY as well). Aromatherapy is defined as the complete practice of the branch of natural medicine using the volatile liquids distilled from plants. Authors of the hard-science aromatherapy texts available today, professionally-trained aromatherapists (one with a PhD in Chemistry) note that the future of aroma medicine is with the treatment of serious infectious illnesses and cancer treatment. You dont even have to smell them for them to work! Other effects of essential oils also being successfully investigated include speeding wound healing, reducing inflammation, and acting as analgesics.
A quick look at the research available on Pub Med, a database of thousands of peer-reviewed life-science and medical journals freely available on-line reveals thousands of citations of research performed using essential oils. Yes, there are in fact some studies that did not result in convincing evidence that hand massages with lavender cream didnt make people feel better than hand massages with unscented lotion. But there is studies that show people sleep better after lavender inhalation. And theres a study that show stress makers of the immune system remained unchanged after inhaling linalool (an isolated constituent of Lavender), but theres also 15 studies (upon last count) showing positive significant results if one searches for and (the technical term for stress reducer). The results for and MAY be as strong; those for and are almost certainly not.
So aromatherapists will even cede that theres mix results. While the naysayers use this data to say aromatherapy doesnt work, the reasonable statement seems to be: s different. Some people respond and some dont. It may be that they would respond to a different aromatic, or maybe not at all. From Robert T. Carol of skepdic.com: I have to conclude that aromatherapy is a mostly a pseudoscientific alternative medical therapy. It is a mixture of folklore, trial and error, anecdote, testimonial, New Age spiritualism and fantasy. Stephen Barrett, M.D. of Quackwatch doesnt really seem to make a point about essential oils, but to just sound disgruntled about the whole idea. Sure, there may be some unsubstantiated claims floating about, but lets play fair. How many deadly drugs have been pulled from the market after drug-manufacturer-paid rigorous scientific investigations claimed them to be safe and effective? One chart puts deaths attributed to properly prescribed and used drugs between those from alcohol and those from alcohol these just above preventable medical misshap, and all of these above traffic fatalities. How many died from using essential oils? Can you draw a circle? How about the letter that comes between and ?
Really, the medical, therapeutic applications of essential oils (repeat: aroma-therapy!) are making huge advances in acceptance in the scientific community among the labs and scientists that do independent and educationally funded research. Important studies are released every month showing the strong efficacy of certain essential oils in treating serious bacterial infections. Try a Pub Med search on and essential oil or tea tree, or and essential oil. Youll find pages of results. The big test will be whether these result in protocols for medical use. The most important factor in this may be how much we all demand that natural are available in the main-stream, as the profit-driven conventional medical system is just not designed to utilize very low cost natural treatments.
Then theres the myriad of studies showing essential oils efficacy in destroying cancers. A recent study in the journal of Chemico-Biological Interactions noted that linalool, a common essential oil constituent, completely eradicated a particular liver cancer cell line at very, very small concentrations. Try essential oil and in Pub Med and youll get results like Frankincense oil derived from Boswellia carteri induces tumor cell specific cytotoxicity(perhaps this is terminology of New Age spiritualism Im yet unaware of). Another result is Anticancer activity of an essential oil from Cymbopogon flexuosus (Lemongrass essential oil) with a conclusion of Our results indicate that the oil has a promising anticancer activity and causes loss in tumor cell viability by activating the apoptotic process as identified by electron microscopy. The list, of course, goes on (there are in fact 388 results today for this search).
So what makes aromatherapy the bearer of such nonchalant, baseless accusations of lack of efficacy? It may really all lay in the name. Aromatherapy does have a very ring to it. The trick of changing this perception from smell good, feel good to potent aromatic medicine will be presentation of hard data at every opportunity. Educate yourself on these studies and therapeutic use of essential oils in general. Make waves wherever possible for the acceptance of natural medicine in the big leagues of Western medicine. Its up to the users and the therapeutic grade essential oil suppliers to make an effort and bringing about this change in perception. Nearly everyone uses Tea Tree or has experienced Vicks Vapor Rub these ARE aromatherapy, and so are all the studies using essential oils in cases of serious illness and disease. Using these examples as a segue can change someones mind about essential oils and the real medicine of their wonderful aromas.

euronews: Geert Wilder, welcome to euronews. Are you concerned for the future of Europe?

Wilders: Im very concerned for the future of Europe. I believe Europe is a beautiful continent with strong countries, but unfortunately, because of the influx of the mass immigration and the Islamisation of our societies, Im afraid that at the end of the day it will cost us our freedom. So, indeed yes, Im very concerned.

euronews: Why do you think that Islam is a threat for Europe. What is scaring you?

Wilders: Let me first say, I make a distinction between the ideology, the religion Islam, and the people. Ive nothing against Muslims, Ive nothing against people. I have a problem with the Islamic ideology. I believe its a totalitarian ideology, that it should not be compared so much with other religions, but with other totalitarian ideologies like communism or fascism. And there is no room in the Islamic ideology for anything else but Islam. And this is what I think that we should really fear.

euronews: Dont you think that to say that Islam is a totalitarian ideology is dangerous, just from an intellectual point of view? Because we see that Iran for instance is fighting for more democracy and they are Muslim.

Wilders: No, once again, people, Ive nothing against people, and I acknowledge that there are moderate people who call themselves Muslims, so there are moderate Muslims, and we should invest in moderate Muslims. But I dont believe in a moderate Islam, I dont think that like Christianity -the Old Testament and New Testament, and separation of church and state, and enlightment in the last centuries that this will ever happen in the [sic] Islam, so I think we should not invest or believe in a European or moderate Islam. But of course we should invest in people and we should invest in democracy.

euronews: How should you separate the concept of Islam as a whole, which you say is a totalitarian ideology, a religion, and the single Muslim, that you say he could also be a moderate?

Wilders: I admit that the majority of the Muslims in our western society today are not extremists, they are not terrorists, they are normal people like you and me, and I believe that theres nothing wrong with that. But I also believe that even though the majority of those Muslims in the western societies today are not extremists or terrorists, that if we will get more of massive immigration we will get also more of the Islamic culture and the Islamic identity and the Islamic ideology in our societies, and then our societies will change: we will have what we are witnessing in the UK today, 85 sharia courts functioning where a woman is less worth than a man, where homosexuals should be killed. I mean this kind of anti-democratic law, sharia, is part of the Islamic ideology, is exactly what is happening in Europe today.

euronews: You have said once that all the Muslim people who want, in Europe, to implement the sharia law must leave Europe. Do you still agree with this statement?

Wilders: I think sharia, the implementation of sharia is the end of democracy. If you believe in sharia, you believe that apostates, that everybody who is not a Christian [sic] should either be a dhimmitude, and he should be living under the rule of Muslims, or either should be killed. The same goes for women or homosexuals. They would have a terrible way of life in a society where sharia is implemented, so I really do believe that if you are in a country and you are in favour of the implementation of sharia that there is very little for you to do. It means that you believe that women are worth less, half, or even more less then man.

euronews: Sorry but no, the sharia law is very clear. The UK Islamic court are not hanging homosexuals.

Wilders: No, but they have a law based on the Koran. And if we start acting like you are suggesting now, if we start saying that, Hey, its only about private law and its not really about the penal code, so please let us allow only this part of the sharia in our society I will tell you that there will be a next step and there will be another step, so I think that we should say: no sharia in our western, free, European and other societies, because if we allow step A, however innocent it might look, and I belive its not innocent at all, that there will be a next step and another step. And the political elite in the European societies will allow it for politically correct reasons, because they are cultural relativists, they believe that all cultures are equal. Gordon Brown, the Prime minister of the United Kingdom, is the biggest coward of Europe. When he sent me away, when I wanted to enter the UK just to show a movie and to have a discussion in the House of Lords. This is the kind of leaders that we have in Europe today and they should be removed and replaced by more brave leaders.

euronews: Thats a problem of public order at home, also for the British

Wilders: Only in the UK. He decided, not because there was any threat, because it was not, like I said, I visited many countries for the same reasons, I was welcomed in a very positive way, but the prime minister of the UK was afraid that somebody came and spoke against his views and say something nasty, according to him, against Islam and he feared that. And there was pressure from Islamic people from the House of Lords, so he gave in, he gave in, he gave up. He played again the Chamberlain of Europe of 2009.

euronews: You are against Turkey joining the European Union

Wilders: For sure

euronews: Many federalists are against Turkey joining the EU, because they say that it will dilute the EU and the idea of a federal Europe will disappear. So you should be in favour of Turkey joining the EU

Wilders: Im against a federal Europe. I want us to stay independent, and Holland to only cooperate in the economical framework, and Im against the joining of Turkey. Ive nothing against Turkey, its a very respected ally within NATO and a good friend of the Dutch people. But I believe its not a member of the family. A good neighbour is not the same as being a member of the family, and its an Islamic country. We will not only pay a very high price when it comes to all the costs, all the money that we will have to pay to Turkey, but its an Islamic country and will get even more immigration to our societies, which is the last thing that we should need.

euronews: Should you open the doors to Ukraine for instance?

Wilders: No, I think that no other country should join Europe. Im even in favour of Romania and Bulgaria to leave [sic] the EU. My party voted against the ratification treaty in the Dutch parliament for the accession of Romania and Bulgaria.

euronews: Why? Whats the problem with them?

Wilders: Because first, the Dutch people believe that Europe is large enough. They are against any more countries joining and I share their view. We should have a small Europe with more little tasks, than an enlarged Europe with even more influence. We are against that, and, secondly, I believe that those countries were not ready at all, were very unready and very corrupt as well.

Breakthrough offers hope of finding cure for male infertility
Scientists have created human sperm in the laboratory for the first time. The extraordinary development, which until a few years ago belonged in the realms of science fiction, raises hopes that infertile men may one day be able to father their own biological children.
The sperm were created in a test tube, from stem cells derived from a five-day-old male embryo. The advance raises ethical questions over the safety of the procedure and the threat it poses to the future role of men. It was also challenged by experts who claimed the sperm-like cells produced in the experiment were not genuine sperm.
If the finding is confirmed, a single male embryo could, in theory, yield a stem-cell line which when stored could provide an unlimited supply of sperm. Once the stem-cell line was established, there would be no further reproductive need for men. In a briefing on the research, the scientists at Newcastle University and the NorthEast England Stem Cell Institute, led by Professor Karim Nayernia, raise the question of whether their discovery means "the end of men".

Amy Alkon on MND / Convert An Atheist Game Show - RtPt - Geez, where to start. First, all religions can be militant. Buddhist, Hindus, and Jews fight others because of their religion. Second, atheism is not a religion. There is nothing to believe in, it is an absence of a belief. It is what you start with before you get indoctrinated into some religion. Third, STFU about Stalin, Mao or Hitler. Stalin trained to become priest. Stalinism put Stalin in place of God, the state/Stalin was God. The same with Mao. Hitler was a Christian. Hitler hated atheists, freethinkers, etc. He bragged about wiping out all of the atheists. Okay, so that is out of the way. Next, atheists are not generally angry people. Atheists do not like the illogical nature of religion, and all the horrible after-effects of religiosity. Next, string theory is a misnomer, it is not a theory. It is something physicists are studying to find GUT or TOE. It is a hypothesis at best. Next, God is not falsifiable. This means it is invalid to try to disprove the existence of something that cannot be proven. It is a scientifically invalid idea to disprove the unprovable. Next, feelings and emotions can be shown through different measures. EKG, MRI, CAT SCAN, bio-chemical reactions, etc... How do we know about the idea of not actually touching anything? It is science, it is empirical evidence, not a revelation. It comes down to this: Faith. Faith is blind belief. And this blind belief has effected our world, society, culture, family, groups, and self adversely. Now it is easy to see why an atheist would find the time to talk about the insanity of religion because of its effect on the world. Have a great day.

By Andrologist and microsurgeon
Dr Sudhakar Krishnamurti

Sexual queries: How diabetes and old age affects intercourse.
Dear Dr. Sudhakar Krishnamurthy,
I am 60 years old and an entrepreneur. I am a diabetic. I have totally controlled my sugar levels and now it is always normal. I also take medicines regularly. I lead a healthy life. Do some breathing exercises like pranayama etc for 15 minutes. I used to go for a brisk walk, but I had stopped lately -- however, I will start regular walking again shortly. I control my diet.

Sometimes, I get a deep sexual urge. But I have the problem of erectile disfunction that prevents me from satisfying myself as well as my wife. Someone suggested Viagra. I have not tried it so far. I shall be grateful to get your advice. Will it be possible to revive and satisfy my sexual urge or I will have to put up with it? A line in reply will be very much appreciated. Thank you very much.

With regards,
Yours sincerely,
K Krishna*

Diabetes is the commonest cause of erectile dysfunction. Age is another risk factor. The control of diabetes does not do anything to help or reduce the erectile dysfunction caused by it. Getting sexual urges at 60 is perfectly normal. Men can be sexually active until a very ripe old age.

My oldest patient in clinical practice has been an 86-year-old gentleman. There is a possibility that medicines (like Viagra) may help you. They help in about 70 percent of cases. If not, there are other options like vacuum devices or penile prosthetic implantation surgery. But these will not increase your sexual urge. They can only help with penile rigidity.

Sexual queries: Infertility problem
Dear Sir,
I am writing with respect to my sexual disorder problem. I am a married person. My marriage was in the year 2007 and till now there are no signs of pregnancy in my wife. After medical check-up of my semen it was noticed that my sperm count is only 10,000 and the abnormality rate is nil. Please advise us for some medical treatment or medicines which can cure this disorder.

Regards, Akhtar

The male is responsible for half of all infertility, i.e 50 percent of all infertility is caused by a problem in the man. If the sperm counts are low, and the sperm motility is poor, then it is very likely that there is a male factor operating in your case. You need to consult an andrologist.

Sexual queries: Tightness of vagina
Dear sir,

I am 62 years and my wife is 59 years old. My wife reached menopause at 52 years. Now, her vagina has become so tight that penetration has become almost impossible. Is there any way to overcome this ? Nanthan.

Narrowing of the vagina (vaginal stenosis) is a normal concomitant of the menopause. Here, generally, prevention is better than cure. Topical estrogen creams are useful in prophylaxis. But established stenosis will require dilatation or more. By no means is it advisable to use force to overcome this. It can cause grievous injury. See a gynecologist.

Sexual queries: How to get rid of Premature ejaculation
Q:Dear Dr, Sudhakar,

Myself Vinay, I am 27 years old and am residing in UK for the past 5 years. My query: I have been masturbating for about 8 years now. During the initial stage it was about 7 to 10 times a week, now it's only about 3 to 4 times a month. What I have realised for the past 3 years is that I am coming too fast, ie within a minute. Is this gonna affect my sexual life when I marry or is this normal? How long do you think a normal intercourse session last for? i have heard from my friends that, it is somewhere between 5 to 20 minutes, if that's the case can I also have the same duration or should I take any medication for the same? Am really worried about this. For your information, I am planning to get married by January 2011. Your advice on the same would be much appreciated.

Regards Vinay.

An ejaculation time of less than a minute is within the ISSM (International Society for Sexual Medicine) definition of premature ejaculation. Such short ejaculatory latency time is certain to affect your partner unless you have already brought her to orgasm using non-coital methods. You need treatment. See an andrologist. You can bet that your friends are fibbing about their ejaculation time. Most do, so don't worry about them. `Normal intercourse time' is usually the time required for the sexual satisfaction of both partners. You must sort this premature ejaculation problem out before your marriage (or first sexual experience). Good medicines are available nowadays.

Dear Dr. Krishnamurthy,

My marriage took place 18 months back. I have a beautiful partner. Her weight is more than me by 5-6 kg. When ever we are doing sex after 15-20 minutes foreplay, the real sex is lasting only 1-2 minutes. By that time, I ejaculate. When I'm checking with her regarding this this, her reply is that sometimes she is getting full satisfaction but sometimes not at all, only an excitement. The time I'm starting foreplay some oily water-like thing is coming from my penis which she doesn't like to have in contact with her body parts. When she feels this wetness, she feels like it is sputum. Moreover she don't like to kiss on lips, or suck lips. My major problem is premature ejaculation. Doctor, can you suggest me a solution for this and to convince my partner for oral sex and kissing on lips?

B regds,
Josh

There are medicines available nowadays to increase the rigidity of erections and to prolong ejaculation. With improved control over both erection and ejaculation, and the increased sexual confidence that stems from both of these, you will be able to focus better on partner satisfaction instead of worrying about your own problems. Discuss this matter with your partner. Find out what she likes, what she does not. Acquire knowledge from available sex manuals written by sexual medicine experts. Learn about the clitoris and the G-spot.

The fluid that emerges from your penis before ejaculation finally occurs is bulbo-urethral fluid, from the small glands that line the urethra. These are intended to lubricate the vagina during sexual intercourse, and are not abnormal secretions. They certainly have no relationship with sputum. If your partner is not agreeable with certain foreplay or sexual practices, you will have to reason with her and try to get her to become agreeable. If not, you have to respect her wishes.

Sexual queries: At what time of a girl's periods, is it safe to have sex
Sir, please tell me at what time of a girl's periods, is it safe to have sex without having the chances of getting her pregnant? I am 23 now but still didn't know about this thing. I should know this because in 2 or 3 years I shall be marrying. I should know each and everything before that. Hoping for an early reply...

Congratulations! You are doing the right thing by trying to stay sex-educated and informed before your first time. It is not possible for me to teach you 'each and every thing' through this column, but you may educate yourself through websites like www.andrology.com and many others. To answer your present question: if the lady has regular 28-30 day cycles, it might be reasonable to suppose that the first few days immediately after the previous menstrual period, and the first few days immediately before the next menstrual period carry the least risk of pregnancy. But this is only a rough thumb rule. Read up.

Sexual queries: Is anal sex harmful?'
Dear Doctor,
My husband wants to indulge in anal sex. I am willing to try, but am afraid of pain and possible infection? What are the risks and precautions we should take?

Sincerely,
T Taranga

This is a good question because the general interest in this subject far surpasses the knowledge people have about it. Also, there is a fair amount of danger in this practice, so there is a real need for education about risks.
Anal intercourse among consenting adults is now accepted as a variation of the normal in many parts of the world. Even historically, it has been an integral part of many cultures and can be seen depicted in various art forms. Khajuraho and Konarak have them too.

Here are a few practical points about anal intercourse:

1. If it must be done, it is mandatory to use a condom, preferably a lubricated one. The anal verge is dry, and entry can be difficult and painful. Anal tears and frenal tears on the penis can both occur.
2. A penis, with or without a condom, that has been inserted into the anus, must not be re-inserted into the vagina. This can transmit dangerous infections.
3. Sexually transmitted infections can be easily transmitted to the passive partner by anal intercourse because the anus is very vascular, and micro-tears occur easily, and bacteria and viruses (including HIV) can gain easy ingress. Likewise, the man's urethra (in penis) can contract infections.
4. For similar reasons, oral sex performed on a penis that has been inserted into the anus, can be dangerous, and is a strict NO-NO.

Clearly, insulin resistance is not simply a problem of deficient glucose uptake in response to insulin, but a multifaceted syndrome that increases significantly the risk for cardiovascular disease. The links between insulin resistance and the associated dyslipidemia, hypertension, hypercoagulability, and atherosclerosis are numerous and complex. This complexity derives both from the almost certain multiple causes of the insulin resistance syndrome and from the interaction of genes predisposing to insulin resistance with other genes that have their own, independent impact on lipid metabolism, blood pressure regulation, coagulation, and artery wall biology. Nonetheless, I suggest that dysregulation of fatty acid metabolism plays a central role in the development of this phenotype. Thus, the association between insulin resistance and dyslipidemia is clearly initiated by increased FFA release from, or defective uptake of FFAs into, adipocytes. Recent studies linking fatty acids to endothelial dysfunction, together with the clear role of VLDL in the stimulation of PAI-1, further support the view that dysregulation of fatty acid metabolism sits close to the center of the pathophysiology of the insulin resistance syndrome, at least as it relates to risk for cardiovascular disease.

Get to know your local health-food store or health food section of your favorite grocery store. If you are not familiar with some of the above foods, get advice! Visit your local health-food store and ask them for advice on cooking and storage. Most stores are extremely helpful and offer all sorts of help. Teach yourself about nutrition. Vegetarian eating is becoming much more common. Libraries and bookshops are full of leaflets and books about healthy eating for non-meat eaters. The Internet is a great source of information, too. Take advantage! Consider vitamin and mineral supplements. A balanced vegetarian diet contains all the nutrition you need. However, if (for any reason) your diet is not balanced, or if you feel tired, ask your doctor whether supplements are appropriate for you. Make sure you get enough exercise. Move your body! To burn calories, any kind of movement, whether its walking, climbing stairs, dancing, or mowing the lawn, will help enhance your bodys ability to burn fat and increase your metabolism. Increasing your metabolism will, in turn, help you lose weight faster. Power walking, jogging, running, elliptical training, bicycling and swimming are all considered to be the most simple but most effective aerobic exercises that will put your body in fat-burning mode. These types of exercises that require continuous, smooth movements force your body to burn a higher percentage of calories from fat. Plus, your body will continue to burn calories for up to an hour after the activity stops.
Conclusion
Remember, simple daily aerobic exercise and a nutritious diet are the keys to maintaining a healthy, fat-burning body regardless of your age, your dietary lifestyle or your fitness level. Even if you can only devote 15 minutes a day to some kind of physical movement, it will benefit your body tremendously.
